Cornelsen designed, installed, commissioned and operated a steam enhanced NAPL recovery system to the specification of ERM for the remediation of dieldrin which, at temperatures above 70 degrees celsius were found to successfully sorb into the kerosene NAPL.
Following a HAZID & DSEAR area classification together with ERM
Cornelsen specified all well headworks & piping along with all safety features (pressure regulators, pressure relief & condensate traps plus appropriate ATEX rated process plant).
By deploying stock ATEX rated MPE plant Cornelsen was able to minimise process plant costs. Over the course of the project Cornelsen maintained in excess of 95% operational uptime.

Brownfield Briefing 2015 ‘Best In-Situ Treatment’: Solvent Spillage Emergency Response, using Sustainable Thermally Enhanced Degradation.
Following the accidental release to ground of circa 11 tonnes of dichloromethane (DCM), resulting from a solvent line failure at an active manufacturing facility, ERM was commissioned to investigate and treat the contamination.
ERM contracted with Cornelsen to design and implement a SEE remediaton system complete with all pipework, wellheads, safety systems and the full process plant.
Cornelsen developed an innovative pre-treatment vapour conditioning system to reduce humidity and moisture and thereby render activated carbon treatment vastly more cost effective

Suspended Solids Filtration - Global Ceramics
Cornelsen Ltd were contracted to design and supply a system to remove suspended solids from the wastewater of the manufacturing facility so that it could continue to be discharged to the local stream/river.
The manufacturing processes use water as a transport medium for the product, pumping it around as a thin sludge.
Cornelsen’s solution fitted on a much smaller footprint and, through the installation of a pre-filtration stage using a Lamella separator without chemical additions, the suspended solids removed at this stage can be pumped back into the factory as useable product adding significant value to the process.
